Ernie and Andy Lawrence - Rochester Music Coalition

**Description**
We play folk music with deep roots in blues and jazz. Both play acoustic guitar and sing with big harmonies.

**Influences**
Ernie is most deeply influenced by the early blues players and the folk musicians that were playing in the 1960's. Andrew has more contemporary influences.

**History**
Ernie and Andy Lawrence are a father and son group. Ernie played in rock bands and folk music in coffeehouses in the early 1970's. He began teaching Andy to play guitar when he was in junior high. They made a lot of music around the house. Andrew went away to school and played in clubs in Philadelphia and Cinncinati. When he returned to the area in 2007, they put this music project together. They have played well over 200 shows in clubs, coffeehouses and festivals around western NY in the last 3+ years.
