Description
The Blues came first. Then in the early sixties, a movement in Britain allowed for musical fusion between the Blues, and Rock and Roll. Artists combined traits from both genres to create a moving type of sound.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, and the Yardbirds are prime examples of this fusion. These bands changed musical history and paved the way for a musical evolution still going strong.
On the second Sunday of February, four high school sophomores from Rochester New York met in Pittsford to re create the sound crafted in the sixties and seventies. Subsequently, The Speechless was born.
Vocalist Micah Premnath is the epidimy of what blues vocalism is all about. Besides singing blues, you can name any style and he'll be able to sing it. His vocal range is uncomparable and unmatched.
Bassist Joe Fritsch has already attained a solo record deal, and produced a CD still being sold along the North East Coast. In addition, his very own custom bass pedal has been made.
Drummer Joe Lankheet has mastered drumming techniques with incredible ease. His rhythmic progressions are simply stunning, and furthermore his ability to solo is without a doubt some of the best drumming in the city.
Guitarist Andrew Foster has shown a profound ability in improvisation, solo work, and creating heart pounding riffs and chord combinations. His work with open tunings has also allowed for incredible acoustic songs to be created.
With goals high as the sun, The Speechless in well prepared to introduce Rochester NY to the entrancing realm of Blues Rock. |
