Description
Caitlin (or Cait) is a drummer and percussionist who just moved to Rochester from the Baltimore/Washington DC metropolitan area. She has experience with all genres of music from jazz, to world music, to classical, to rock. Cait has studied with John Tafoya (Principal Timpanist - National Symphony Orchestra), Ruth Cahn (Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra), Raymond DesRoches, Dominic Famularo (Drum set), and Dominic Donato (Talijan Percussion Quartet). She has performed with orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz groups and rock bands in venues up and down the east coast. Cait also has experience directing and conducting percussion ensembles, and has been teaching private lessons for 3 years. Caitlin is also a singer/songwriter, and has been singing since the age of 4. She has composed a few works for percussion. She also enjoys playing the guitar. |
Influences
For the most part, I like to say that I am my own influence, although I really enjoy the drumming of Carter Beauford and Mike Portnoy. John Tafoya has been a huge influence on my classical playing as well. |
