Description
We are Matt Medved and The Others, consisting of Matt Medved (vocals), Dave Clarke-Hazlett (keyboard), Micah Gertzog (violin), Dave Herrera (bass) and Dan Ringo (guitar). We are an eclectic mix of poetry, music, rock, fun and psychadelia wrapped up into a strange bundle that is rather impossible to classify as any given genre except perhaps Chamber Rock, a mixture of chamber music and rock.

History
Matt Medved and The Others originally formed in February 2004 to try and set music to Matt Medved's poetry to perform at Galaxy Soiree, a school music/poetry event. However, it evolved far beyond this initial vision. The lineup coalesced around Matt Medved on vocals, David Clarke Hazelett on keyboard, Micah Gertzog on electric violin, Dave Herrera on bass guitar, and Dan Ringo on guitar. With each practice session, the songs got more complex and the playing more diverse until they had four songs lined up for Soiree with countless others in concept and early stages of writing. Galaxy Soiree, the first performance, went quite well, with Medved being hailed as "Jim Morrison reincarnated", the music "brilliant" and the band being invited to play Springfest. In the triumphant wake, Matt Medved and The Others settled down to write and record demo versions of the songs that would make up their first album.
