NRG!Duo is a high energy flute duo with members Tina Beaton and Sherry Finzer. The duo started playing together in 2003 and have played both locally and nationally. At their debut recital in May 2005. they released their first CD titled "Unleashed". This CD is a compilation of both classical and world music. NRG! reaches audiences by playing new and interesting world music and put a twist on the classical genre. The duo is currently working on their next release. History

TINA BEATON

Tina Beaton is currently studying with Glennda Dove-Pellito. She graduated from the Eastman Community Music School as the first adult student to graduate with honors receiving the Adult Certificate in Flute with Honors, Certificate of Advanced Achievement in Performance, and 2 Certificates of Merit.

She performs regularly as NRG! Duo nationally, Mantra duo locally, and has been principal flutist in the Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus since 1998. She also studies with Goran Marcusson and Dr. Bradley Garner annually at the Wildacres Flute Retreat.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Rochester Flute Association as the Program Chair, and is a member of the Fairport Musicale.

Tina is a mother of one and owner of Fingerprints by Tina, LLC, a work at home business as a Medical Transcriptionist. She enjoys running, weightlifting, yoga, reading, and spending time with her fiance, daughter, and Doberman’s.


SHERRY FINZER

Before moving to Phoenix, Sherry Finzer had studied with Glennda Dove-Pellito for many years and was principal flute for the Brockport and Greece Symphonies, as well as the Greece Concert Band and Orchestra. She also performed with the Silvertones Flute Choir, Caprice Flute Trio, Pressed 4 Time Quartet and NRG Duo! She performed at the Eastman School of Music for Jim Walker, and has attended the Ithaca Flute Institute, where she studied with Wendy Mehne, Claudia Anderson, Jill Felber, and Leone Buyse. Recently, she has studied at Wildacres Flute Retreat with Brad Garner and Goran Marcusson.

In October of 2002 and 2004, Sherry won the Rochester Flute Association’s flute competition. In 2006 she was chosen to perform at the National Flute Association's annual convention as a performer for the Newly Published Music Concert and was also selected to play alto flute for the NFA's Professional Flute Choir.

She now resides in Phoenix, AZ, with her family, and teaches private lessons at her home and group exercise classes at various studios. Sherry is a member of the Rochester Flute Association and a board member for the Arizona Flute Society. She performs locally with Trillium Flute Trio and guitarist Ric Flauding, and nationally with NRG!Duo.
