Description
The Rochester Drum Machine is a Percussion Ensamble consisting of 2 members. Don Mercurio of Junction 5 and Billy McGrath formerly of Creamengine now with The Julie Dunlap Band. They perform on 2 drum sets, marching drums and various other percussion toys spread out across the stage. Anyone that drums or likes drums needs to see the Rochester Drum Machine.

Influences
The inspiration for The Rochester Drum Machine came from a Dave Weckle cd "Master Plan". Track 8 features Dave Weckle and Rochester's own Steve Gadd playing set together, then trading solos back and forth. We took that concept and then added marching percussion for our unique flavor.

Don has won Drum Corps Individuals 4 times in 1991,'96,'97,'98. He has been drumming for over 25 years. Groups include Nik & The Nice Guy's, Phantom Funk, Junction 5, Dutchboy, Rochester Patriots, Crusaders, and The Empire Statesmen.
Billy has won Drum Corps Individuals twice and placed second 7 times. He has been drumming for over 25 years. Groups include Big Lizard,JuniorCadillacs,Creamengine,Rochester Patriots, Crusaders, Firebirds,The Empire Statesmen, and currently playing for Nashville Recording Artist Julie Dunlap.
The Rochester Drum Machine have played many shows. The most notable would have to be in England in 1998 at The Drum Corps United Kingdom Percussion Championships, although drumming on Copa Cabana Beach in Brazil was pretty nice too!( with the Empire Statesmen)
