Description
Shallow formed in the summer of 2005-- a new band with veteran experience in the Rochester music scene. The members of Shallow strive to fight-off typical genre labels and push their unique music style into an unknown class. This style includes a blending of Metal, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Rock, and Lounge. Shallow is a melting pot of musical influences that rejects anyone devoid of an open-mind.

Roster
Jake, lead guitar
Mac, bass
Jason, drums
Justin, lead vocals

Influences
Depends on which band member you ask. We sound a bit like Rage Against the Machine, combined with Limp Bizkit if they did Disturbed covers; but we don't do any covers so...

History
Jake, Mac, and Justin were all members of the band Uprising here in Rochester. They enjoyed local sucess, including opening for Ill Nino, but differences among other band members forced a split. The guys had a hard time finding a drummer afterwards. Eventually, Mac placed an ad for a drummer on the RMC site where Jason spotted it. While he comes from a funk/fusion/groove type of background, Jason has always had a love for heavy music and he responded to Mac's ad in late July 2005. The chemistry between the band members and their new drummer was instant. The new band quickly found a rehearsal space and began writing. In October of 2005 they played their first show together at the Penny Arcade to a very enthusiastic crowd.
