Influences
There are certain elements of many different styles I try to incorporate into my own style. My influences are Blues, jazz, eastern, metal, classical, world, and quirky humorous music. Some specific musical influences are Leonard Cohen, Metallica, Prince, Jaco Pastorious, Ravi Shankar, David Byrne, Mozart, Mr. Bungle and Sade

History
Shawnee grew up in Rochester, NY. Where he’s from, no one can tell. He first began his journey with music by experimenting on his own with guitar, bass, keyboards, a drum machine and a four track. He later studied bass at Finger Lakes Community College. While at Finger Lakes, Shawnee Boyeee started developing his eclectic style when his bass professor asked him to join their classical guitar ensemble, he was beat boxing and playing electric guitar in performance class, and also playing bass in jazz band and the experimental psychedelic funk folk group Ellipse.
After Finger Lakes Shawnee moved away from academia to the other side of the spectrum and co-formed, composed, and played bass in the local hip-hop band Midnight Dragonz. When this four year blessing ran its course, Shawnee moved to Austin, Texas where he co-formed a Tex-Mex hip-hop project with the drummer/percussionist, clarinetist, and bass player from the world music band Kan’ Nal. After a paradisiacal journey traveling around the west coast with these luminous Stars, entertaining cults, new agers, and many fly women, Shawnee moved operations to Chapel Hill, N.C. Here he developed his style further by working with many innovative MCs, poets, and free thinkers. Now Shawnee is traveling North America, spreading the music through shows, street performing, open mikes, and simply chillin’ with divine energies.
Take all this, add some Prince, Rolling Stones, Marley, Hendrix and Leonard Cohen covers and it’s a big Shawnee BoyEEE partAy!!!
